Clicking sound when unscrewing the crown of iw3777714

Hi, just a quick question. Hope I am not being paranoid. I just got a Le petit edition of pilot chronograph. When I unscrew the crown to wind the watch I hear clicking sounds. It's like the sound when you are turning against the direction of winding the watch. Is it normal? Sorry for asking stupid question. Thanks.

Well, when unscrewing the crown, you are in fact turning against the direction of winding, so the sound is the same and is quite normal.

Mark, beg to disagree but I'm not sure it is normal. I have a "non-IWC" chrono with ETA 7750 TOP inside and just now experienced a clicking sound and "hand-feeling" when hand-winding. I'm sure it's not normal and will go to the watchmaker soon. I'd rather advise HIRO79 to take the watch to a watchmaker down the corner to check the mentioned sound.

I can't comment on your particular situation, but please report back once you have seen a watchmaker.

When winding a crown counter-clockwise, the ratchet will always make a clicking sound, it's part of the mechanism

me thinks that we understand different things under "clicking sound" - I think it has to be a not continuous, but - say one click on every complete turn of the winding crown or similar. But it can never do wrong if a watch visits a watchmaker if in doubt :) As my watch that I was talking about is worn extremely rarely it won't be too close when I visit the watchmaker with this one.
