I never planned my collection. I only bought what I could somehow afford and what I liked. That still is the case today. This is what is on the list now:

The one in the middle I'm wearing for 2,5 years now. The left one is partially paid, the right one reserved.
It will take me some years to pay the new ones but if I don't get them now, they'll be gone. So I had to make the decision right now.
When decisions are made you start to make new plans. These are the new plans after those 3:

That would make almost one of each family which almost seems like a collection plan.
Until then the plan can change because of new models rising up on the horizon e. g. from the Da Vinci family.

But the first 3 will stay now. These are keepers definitely.
They're outstanding watches each representing for me the top level of their lines and fitting my wrist and taste perfectly.

A rock solid foundation to your collection!

And yes, each one at the leading edge of style and clearly to your liking.

Now as for the next 3... Wonder if it will stay that way?

i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj79/BloemenPA/IMAG0016.jpgThat is a great collection in the making. And I can certainly recommend the Portofino as a very elegant watch, both for work and classy leasure. Love mine, it is quite a looker and it wears very comfortable because it is rather thin. Keep on going!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Excellent plans Tilo. I always say have a plan, stick to it. Funny, that Portifino you want is also the one I will most likely get from that range when the time comes.

    Cheers,

    Jarrod

    Hi Tilo
Superb collection plans. I can see a lot of similarity to my plan, e.g. I would like to add an AT one day and from the portofino family it will be the 516102.
Congrats to your decision for the BP LPP it is a stunning watch and to me one of the greatest BP.

    Cheers Chris

    Hi Tilo,

I almost feel like saying "snap".

The Silberpfiel, LPP BP and Portofino are all stuck to my mirror at home. You're steps ahead of me though.

Congrats mate on making it happen!

Thank you for your kind words.
    Just for clarification:
By today I own only the Yacht Club for 100%.
The rest is the near and far future.
I'm goning to nail down the near future by next week.
I'll keep you posted here. :)

The only line that is not yet on my list, is the Da Vinci (what a Sacrileg)!
If I look at the current collection I guess IWC messed up a little bit with this line for the second time already: In the 2000s they let go the line for many years and since 2007 they let it go once again. The strongest of them all (Portuguese) are made even stronger this year. I could imagine there are big plans for the future of the Da Vinci which will take some years to come. Like my next aquistions after the "first 3". Probably this fits together coincidentially. ;)

It will be an excellent collection, Tilo. I think your "wish list" for future purchases mirrors my own acquisition plan...now if I only had ready financial assets to make it so!
