I've not worn the 3227 for a few months. It must have been last Saturday's GTG that made me put on Collectors' Forum Ingenieur this morning. After 8 years, it is showing a few scars but it feels very comfortable and the in-house movement still keeps very good time. Maybe it deserves a spell at the Spa. As with other recent posts, I am using a Microsoft word document for lighting and a leisurely exposure.

Ralph, it is a classic design and glad to see it getting some air time. Do you have any shots of the case back for the CF version?

Ralph, no scratches there....just a ton of character!

IMHO - No SPA !!!!! ...and you know how I appreciate the wizards of Schaffhausen's work.

It's perfect the way it is.

Great watch, Ralph- one of my favorites. I am planning on adding a sister piece (CFP) soon.

It's interesting about the CFI watch in my situation- when I first got it, I was not crazy about it. It was nothing particular, nothing I could put my finger on. But the more I wore it, the more I liked it. Now, I would not consider getting rid of it! I love the massive bulk of it- it is really a truly special piece.
Great seeing a picture of yours.

I really wish I had been around when the first two CF's were offered. I would love to have both.

I too wish I were around when the CFI was offered. I have the second best option, the original 3227. I've been wearing it all week. As you can see, like Ralph's, it has some character marks. It's big, it's bold, and it's a great heavy duty IWC. It's the watch I go to when skiing and doing semi athletic stuff….at my age, most sports are semi…

Ralph - I have enjoyed your recent photos with lighting by Bill Gates -- very creative. I'm curious about the 2nd and 3rd photos here: the second hand appears to be AWOL.

I'd like to say that I often remove the second hand when I want uncomplicated photographs but I don't. I use very long exposures - up to 25 seconds. if the crown isn't extended to hack the watch, the second hand moves and is not detected by the camera.

So now I am confused. It's technically NOT a modified "Photoshop" type picture - yet what we see is not what we get?

Amazing! BTW the "missing" ( but actually there - just not seen at first glance) power reserve indicator on the IW5021-21 Blued Dialed PPPC is one of the ways to tell it apart from a Ref.5032-03 Blue Dialed PPPC.

    Great post Ralph.

I'd really like to know if our names will appear on the extracts 100-years from now. It's my one shot at the 15-minutes!

    Great post, Ralph.
