Hi. Have had my eye on a cal.89 for the last 10 years in preparation for coming apocalypse. Never worn a watch before but this one really caught my attention.
Would anyone be able to help with details on the dealer or the watch in particular?

    Whoops. posted a link there....

I'll describe it instead. It's a Platinum cased IWC Cal. 89 being sold out of Japan. Case is stamped as "Platinum 581033" and nothing else. Watch is in reasonable condition overall but probably more expensive than one would otherwise pay for this watch if the ad wasn't truthful. That being said, it seems the price requested is very reasonable if legitimate.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Well, a picture of two would definitely help.

But for that you are going to have to post only the pictures and thanks for not having posted the commercial link - which would revoke the long arm of the moderator's Law :-)

The good news is that Yes they existeren these PT cased pieces - and then only on the Japanse market. And most of them, were pretty nest pieces.

I thought that there should be some kind of symbol or trade mark
resembling a Japanese Flag / Numbers 900 and Pt ( platinum)

    Cheers

I presume this is not an IWC case and if so would not be that attractive to me personally.
Like Howe I also think the case should have some Japanese proof marks if it is platinum.
The dial looks genuine but not in great condition, the movement does not looks too bad.
There are a lot of cal.89 watches out there, take your time.
