Can anyone here provide an answer to my questions:
    (1) Mark XI --> Mark XII --> Mark XV --> Mark XVI --> Mark XVII, hmmm...something is missing here? Where on earth are Mark 13 and Mark 14?
    (2) Have a look at the following Chinese characters of "ENGINEER"

Reading from the left to the right, the 1st Chinese character is "WORKS", and it looks like an "I" as in "INGENIEUR" and you can also see such pattern on the dial of 3277.

Is it just my wishful thinking? or the designer did consider these interesting facts during the research phase?

    Hi Kelvin,

The 13 and 14 were skipped, as unlucky numbers in some cultures.

When I talked to Guy Bove, who lead the design team on the 3227, he wanted to use the I from the word Ingenieur as part of the dial design.

Hello Michael. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. We are lucky to have you as the Forum Moderator. Someone who is knowledgeable, and passionate about haute horlogerie. I will bring your answer to the local community. The number "18" is a very lucky number here in the Chinese culture, and I am looking forward to Mark XVIII in 3-5 years time.

Once again, thank you very much

    Kelvin F.
