Well, it appears that, in addition to MF and GK, thanks are also owed to Argiris and Nad who had the gumption to press the issue of a possible third Forum watch.
Thanks Michael, thats a great article to finish the project. I remember myself 12 month ago sitting in front of my pc for 4 weeks, checking, thinking, convincing myself to not buy a watch which I nêver saw in flesh before! Luckely I was weak enough, and could not resist any longer. I really love my CF3. Thanks to all the people, who made the project possible.
There were a lot of people behind this project. I'm sure I'll omit some, but a quick list includes:
Oliver Siegel --with whom I must have had 50+ e-mails about the parameters Nina Jaegle --from product management and a real supporter Michael Brouwer --head of product management Christian Knoop --head of design Maike Fleischer =-who was invaluable regarding distribution/sales Dominic Weir --head of media and digital marketing Karo Huber --who previously was head of Marketing & Communications, and Two very bright interns from St. Gallen business school, plus as mentioned Argiris and Nad who both had the temerity to ask a question (my editor --my wife Kay-- changed that word in the article).
A very nice article Michael - cudos to you, IWC, Argiris, Nad and the entire CF team for pulling this off. I was there when Argiris posed the question and it has been great to be part of the journey.
Fingers crossed we can do it again in a few year's time :-)
Interesting article Michael. Thanks for sharing. I will make a print-out and save it with the box as a kind of historical reference for future generations that will, hopefully in the far future, inherit my CF3.
It's pretty cool to get some insight into the creation of a pretty special watch. I'll probably print the article to and keep it with my box. Why not? It will be cool to pull it out and read it in 25 years from now.
What an interesting story! So much hard work from so many people. Shows what can be achieved when the priorities are set and dedicated people are involved. When you think about it, so much was achieved in a relatively short time. Incredible. I am so glad that in this time of mass production, IWC managed to produce such an individual piece!
I love my CF3 and it gets more compliments than almost anything else in the collection. That said, I was hooked long before the design was shown. Another Collector's Forum watch designed by Michael? I'M IN!
The CF3 is a very special IWC that is beautifully designed and executed. It holds fast to the history and tradition of IWC and gives special recognition to the IWC Collectors' Forum members who are now lucky enough to own one.
Thanks IWC, MF, and the rest of the supporting staff.
