    Hello!

I just bought a used Big Pilot 5004-01. But I'm not sure about the crystal on
this watch, because it seems to have no AR, a very shiny surface and absolute
    no blue hue of AR.

Is there any way to prove the authenticity of the crystal? Maybe some experts
here have a look at the pictures.

That certainly is curious, a blue hue should be detectable. I am not sure
there is any way to verify authenticity of a crystal, but If there is no AR
coating, I would have it replaced. I do enjoy the clarity an AR coated crystal
brings to the dial and believe it is well worth the price in relation to the
    overall value of the watch.

Thank you, this is correct. I'll ask IWC about the price of a crystal.

So sad the seller scammed me and didn't tell me he changed the crystal with a
    cheap aftermarket.

I never heard of after market spare crystals without coating.

Either it was removed on purpose (maybe too many scratches on the coating)
    either the watch
is not original, at least in some parts (numerals seem to be too thin).

Far from my intention scaring you but is the seller a reputable one?

Aftermarket watch crystals are available in many variations; plastic, mineral
    glass, sapphire, AR coated, etc.

My 5002 just came back from service and got a new glass from IWC. They charged
195€ for it. Hope that helps.

They changed it, because the glass which was in, was not an original. I was
not aware of it but had the same issues like you have right now.
