hi Tilo,
very nice watch coupled with great photo..
ah, if my wrist would be just a bit wider...
greetings,
yitzhak
Great photo mate. I have recently tried on some of the new Ingenieur's including the one you want. Absolutely loved it. Good luck with picking it up.
Very nice watches --beautiful watches indeed. But also I hope you won't mind one more 89361/89365 chrono movement next year with the CF3, and won't run out of cash en route ;)
Hi Michael,
I am very pleased with the idea of the CF watches but the current Pilots range is not really for me. I've hoped for a special version of the Ingenieur Chronograph as a CFIOnceAgain ;-)
The one I really loved to own would have been the very first, the CFI, but I didn't make it then and now the Ingenieur Chronograph Racer as an addition to the Portuguese Yacht Club is what I've waited for a very long time. The ultimate watches in size and style which are in a possible price range for me. Sorry no CF3 for me but I'm sure they will go very well for many other collectors here.
No problem, Tilo. Best wishes. They are both beautiful watches.
To me the CF3 represents something much more than just another good looking chronograph. There also will be a lot of other good looking IWCs next year, too, I'm sure.
Michael, I know and appreciate the high value of the CF3 that is beyond a good look. That's why I really liked to get one, but the Spitfire is indeed not my cup of tea and given that I just cannot afford an expensive watch every year (in fact every 5 years comes closer) I'm feeling pretty well with my decision.
But I support the CF3 from the bottom of my heart.
I think the Chronograph Racer is from a design perspective the reasonable successor of the CFI despite the fact it is a chronograph. This again is adding more value to me because I really became a big chronograph fan and hardly ever want a watch without a chrono.
I fully understand and support this reasoning. It is the same line of thought that I went through with the CF2: I just didn't like the Da Vinci Chrono enough to justify the price, even if it was a Forum watch. The symbolic function put first comes easy to those with a lot of money laying around. In this respect I feel lucky that I both like the Spitfire and the design proposed, otherwise it would have to be a no go for me again. But on the other hand, liking the watch and design of the CF3, it makes me feel quite lucky and happy that such a watch will be CF3, representing this forum that has been a part of my life for quite a long time now. But don't be mistaken about the order of thought.
Kind regards,
Paul
Tilo - two very nice watches. I'm partial to the Yacht Club but that Inge is impressive. Hoping your acquisition happens soon.
Hi Tilo,
That's a wonderful photo! Tell me, did you have any struggle with choosing the black dial over the white dial?
Nelson
You don't care the Chronograph Racer is not antimagnetic?
For the Portuguese? Nope. The white dial is nice but what makes it impossible for me is the missing contrast between the dial and hands. In week lighting conditions this is a nightmare for readability. I once had a Spitfire Doppelchrono that had a similar problem: silver dial with white hands.
I love the black dial last but not least because of the white minute ring around it. This makes a perfect contrast for me.
No, not at all.
I never had problems with magnetism in watches. So if I don't have it with a Portuguese I don't really need it for an Ingenieur as well. If it was antimagnetic, I'd appreciate but I'm not a real purist for that. I think it's a lot about marketing and purism.
For me waterproofness (of the strap too), shock resistance, readability under any conditions including luminescence all meaning usability is most important. Being antimagnetic is not a prime issue for me.
Some more of it
Waiting for a yacht.
Waiting to be mine ;-)
Excellent pictures Tilo. The Yacht Club is one of my favorites in the collection and that Ingenieur looks like it could be a great companion.
Tilo...those two watches definitely have dial presence. Solid choices. A one, two, punch !
Well done pic's.
Tilo, congratulations on the magnificent duo. Anticipation of the Inge's arrival is tough, but when it's finally strapped on your wrist the wait is worth it.
When will you do the deed??
