Hi,
Does anyone know what the 'SL' means on a DA Vinci SL - IW352801
Thank you.
That's a good question. I didn't know and did some reasearch. In the IWC
Catalogue from 2000/01 (German version) ist says, that SL stands for
"sympathischer Luxus" or "schlichter Luxus" which translates as "personable
luxury" or "plain luxury". In the Chronograph section, "sportlicher Luxus" is
also mentioned.
These are therefore watches for people who like understatement. A discreet
watch that doesn't cause too much attention but holds all the great quality
inside.
Probably, originally, there was another meaning for "SL", but his was written
by IWC in 2000.
Greetings Philipp
Just a hint:
Or is it Sport Luxury ?
Indeed, in the Chronograph section of the Catalogue that I mentioned above, it
also says "sportlicher Luxus" as a meaning of the "SL". I added this in my
former comment.
