    Hi Peeps,

So, I got myself a hand-wound 75th Anniversary Portuguese recently. I notice that the date doesn't change completely, especially on the 20-ish dates. The date wheel somehow gets stuck during transition. Manual intervention like adjusting the date directly or turning the hour hand past midnight works fine. I'm hesitant to send it in for service as I'm worried of possible repercussions to the movement as a result of the service and of course, reluctant to part with my watch.

I'm hoping that the issue is due to the movement not breaking in enough and will work out by itself eventually. Anyone with similar encounters?

    .

Nothing to do with breaking in, I have similar problem with my DFB BP and I got to send to Schaffhausen to rectify it as I do not want my local service centre to meddle with my watch. Hopefully you are staying near there to cut down the waiting time.

Hmm, I have the same on my Ingenieur Vintage Laureus edition, also around the 20'th of the month. Mine seems to jump a bit too far though, skipping half a day ahead. I won't send it in until it's time for a regular service.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

I had the same issue with my Portofino 8 Days Handwound (the same movement as the Portuguese 8 Days Handwound), first at a few days, quite randomly it seemed, then every day. I sent it in to Schaffhausen, they took care of it. I have seen quite a bit of alignment problems with dates and days here, I wonder whether this is an IWC issue. Nothing serious, but quite annoying if you have to correct it every day: it just doesn't feel right for a high quality watch.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

You guys are lucky to be able to send in to Schaffhausen. I'm living in Singapore, so I guess my options are pretty limited. I will probably sit on it and enjoy the watch until the regular service, like CINQ.

Some update. I took the plunge and sent the watch for repair at my local service center. Initially, I insisted on sending it in to Shaffhausen but was persuaded otherwise by the boutique manager. She was sincere and did a good job of assuring me to trust the local service center. Long story short, I got my watch back 3 weeks later and it has been working fine. Thanks fleekk nonetheless and I'm a satisfied customer.
