Seems to work this morning for the "applet" version for mobile applications. I
haven't checked the standard application yet. There are also notes for the
"standalone" application stating updates expected next quarter for Apple OS.
    "Online" application shows decommissioned.

Time to play around with it again! Many thanks to any others who may be
    involved in maintaining this database.

    Hello all,

I wrote the fine gentleman who made the app and here is his answer , lucky us
to have a forum member reaching to help out.

If there you want to help out with additional info, I would suggest that I
would be the one that can receive the info and then send it to Marco in bulk
    as he asks.

    "

Since your mail was not very specific about what was no longer working I
checked all three version of DateYourIWC during the last weeks. .

    1. Standalone Version
      • Although the application are all 32bit, they do still work on both my Mac and my Windows emulation. However downloading them was no longer possible. The problem was caused by the provider migrating my webpages to a new servers. The migration program obviously had a bug. Whenever a ZIP file was present on different folders of the same server having the same name, the migration program must ave added a code to the zip-extension to differentiate between them. But when saving it on the new server, it forgot to strip the extension from the name, hence all download links were broken. I've fixed this.
      • With regard to the future, I need to recompile the application as 64bit programs. I see that my programming platform (called livecode) now supports 64bit apps, but the compiler is still beta only. But what troubles me most is that I no longer have a business license for livecode (simply too expensive for my current usage). That's not the issue for there is an open source license, but in this case I have to rework the program to include open source statements etc. and that will take time.
      • For the time you should be fine with the links fixed, but I'd appreciate if you or other forum members could verify--
    2. Online (Plug-in) Version
      • Basically the same app as the standalone, but running with within a browser window using a plug-in. This was rather experimental, technically not best practice and I never got it running completely smooth. It was also not much used (I believe). The plug-in has been depreciated for safety reason a few years ago, and it's no longer working.
      • Instead, LiveCode offers now something rather similar using state-of-the-art html5 (java-app) functionality. I'm experimenting with it, but am not sure how far I will get. Contrary to the plug-in, the html5 can be used by mobile phones, although it will add quite a lot to your data consumption (at best 10MB on my phone)
    3. Applet Version (kind of Java-Script)
      • Very lean version for online access, providing just the basic dating functionality. It transfers just few data, hence it was ideal for mobile access.
      • I had programmed this just as a one-off experiment to explore such an option for application for a charity I'm supporting, but then preferred another approach. Nowadays I have no clue how I did it.
      • The version worked before the summer break but then went dead. I thought that this might to do with me having no professional license anymore or with it being no longer supported. Anyway, I thought this was gone for good. In the meantime I learned that I have live-long license for this as an early adopter, and that the break was caused by an upgrade of the server to a new livecode version. I wasn't informed about this, because I was missing from the mailing list due to my renouncing of the business license for the standard product. Anyway, upgrading to the new livecode version was a simple matter of search and replace, and the applet should now be operational again. Again please verify.

That's about what I have to tell you. I hope that my fixes are working for you
and the forum members which I still remember with some fondness. Therefore a
final offer: If you or the forum members have additional information/data
which may help to improve the functionality, I'm willing to include them in a
new version (till end of year). But please make sure that the information is
transmitted as bulk and not one by one."

Happy to help, it is for us an very useful instrument
