Dating an IWC 3706 39mm Chronograph

I have a chance to buy a 3706 with serial number 2,966,068. Can anyone give me a date as to when the watch was most likely sold?

year late '99 (?)

mine is from 01 '99 has nr 2,724,128 so I think the watch is a bit older.
Buy it(!) had mine serviced by IWC and got it back as new, great with a folding clasp.

I believe 2003 was the production year
