I need some serious help here on what to do. Which one should I buy, Galapagos or the Deep Dive 2? I like the look of both.

    I prefer the Deep Two

Without regard to cost, I prefer the Deep Two in terms of design, function, and collectability. My thinking is primarily that the Deep Two has a truly innovative, IWC-designed and built complication, which builds on the legacy of the Deep One. It's truly an important part of IWC's history of dive watches and I really like the design. In contrast, while the Galapogos has a certain "cool" factor, it does not stand out to me as being nearly special as the Deep Two.

    Best of luck,

    David

    David,

THAT is what I really wanted to hear. I prefer the Deep Two as well and agree with the "coolness factor". Your comments sold me on the Deep Two.

    Thanks, Matt

Yes, but I tend to forget that quickly

I always feel a knot in my stomache when paying a lot of money for a watch. I am able to afford it of course, but still I do, I ever will. And after a day, no, after an hour, this is well forgotten, and the joy of looking at my new watch is unsurpassable. Any comparable experience about this special moment?

    Kind regards,
    Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese

Yes, I get that knot in my gut every...

time. It used to be a bigger deal when I was less versed in watch buying and always felt like I might be making a mistake. However, it still gives me pause...probably a good thing to ruminate a little over a particular purchase.

    Paul,

I am turning 40 Monday, so I think getting a another IWC watch to add to the collection is in order. The price doesn't scare me too much, although do I agree, it is up there. Wearing IWC never gets old!

That was exactly my experience, David....

A year and a half ago, it was not even a plausible expenditure in my mind. After I finally succumbed, I now find myself just making sure that marshalling the finances for the next purchase does not have a desultory impact on family necessities...and that my ever-practical wife does not go screaming into the street (although meeting MF and attending a watch show helped!).

    Best regards,
    Jim

That was exactly my experience, David....

I have had the same experience with spending that much money for a watch... The Deep Two is in my future and will be wearing while diving in Belize over Chinese New Year! My Aquatimer Split Minute will be staying home this trip.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

    Matt
