    Hi

I'm new to this forum so apologies if this has already been covered. I did have a look through the previous entries but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for

I was given my Portofino chronograph by my wife almost two years ago. The time has come to replace the brown leather strap that came with it as it no longer does the timepiece justice.

I'm wondering of there are deployant clasp straps available for the Portofino chronograph. And if so what kind of price range are we talking about

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Beeckmap,
We don't discuss pricing on the Forum.

You have not given us any reference number for your Portofino Chrono, so I'm going to assume 3910-01 as you mentioned brown strap. Here is the workbook info for ref 3783 which I think will be the same. I cannot find more recent models on record.

Best is to go to AD and shop. I just got a new BP style black croco strap for my 3717 from my AD.

Where's Andy, this question is his speciality?

Beeckmap --if you change to a deployant buckle, you should change straps too. The straps for deployants are shorter on one side.

You should order through an AD, who can give you a price quote. Buying the strap plus buckle are not inexpensive and vary per country due to import tariffs, etc.

I changed a watch from pin buckle to deployant with change of correct strap. It sits better on the wrist and the straps don't get folded as they do on pin buckle so like for like they will last longer.

Thanks very much for your replies guys.

[Sorry bout asking for pricin - learned for next time]

The reference for my portofino chrono is indeed 3910 with the brown leather strap.

Went to see the AD yesterday and he was convinced that the strap for the deployant and the regular strap are the same length. Which is contradictory to what you're saying. Luckily I didn't order it just yet.

I will go back and make sure he orders the right strap.

    Thanks for your help

    Peter

A strap for a deployant buckle definitely is not the same as strap for a tang buckle. Your AD is dead wrong.
