This morning, on a famous worldwide auction site, I saw a dial for the IWC Portugieser ref. 325.
For those who have more experience in this field, does it look original?
I´m aware that this forum is a non commercial forum, so I didn´t include any link to this auction.

Without even searching for the item, keep in mind that pocket watch dials were used on the 325s, and many different style dials were used. As such, it's probably a real dial from a not uncommon pocket watch.
I'm certainly no expert - not even knowledgeable of 325's really, and I will certainly yield to the knowledge of the real experts we have on this site.
I am posting here the picture I see on that site from a seller in Portugal. Is this the one you are looking at?
It sure appears to be in very rough condition and does not bear the "International Watch Co" signature logo. Personally, real or not, I'm not sure why anyone would put that into a watch.
Yes, that´s the dial I saw today.
To put this dial on a 325 would be IMHO a punishment, let alone paying for it.
Michael, a pocket watch dial I guess would have the feet shifted by 90 degrees - not in the same position in the wristwatch. Am I wrong?

Hi Franco. I'm not Michael, but I think that dials for PWs with cal 74s will fit on Ref 325s with the same caliber, and the same is true for dials for a PWs with cal 98.
I believe that dials for PWs with cal 73 or cal 97 can't be used on a ref 325.
For my own interests I just checked dials for a ref. 5404 Savonette (cal. 982) - and 5301 (cal. 972) Lepine style PW.
The mounting pins are on the same position and so, the dials should be used vice versa.
That should be similar to other calibers.

As Dick points out there is no International Watch, Schaffhausen logo on the dial. This dial might well be from another brand, meaning that the "feet" on the back side might not fit on an IWC cal. 74 or 98 movement. Moreover it is in a condition that it hardly or not can be restored.
Value imho zero.

Hello dear collectors , I am new to this forum , I have read many posts in recent months , we are pleased to have received so much knowledge about watches IWC . I have a diverse collection of watches built in the last 30 years, for me more than a passion the watches are like a complement of my emotions . Obviously the iwc portuguese makes me feel very proud because we Portuguese people we helped to create an icon of the watchmaking industry .
Good presentation aside, wanted to say that I know the collector who tried to sell this dial , it was mounted on a portuguese he bought here in Portugal some years ago , although in very poor condition. Remember, The mark at dial is always the last operation to be made for what is always on the finishing varnish, this dial now lost all the varnish over time and it is natural to have lost iwc brand logo, but is genuine and have the correct size to the portuguse 325. maybe iwc factory can restore it.
