It's a chapter ring...on a dial from a period synonymous with such an
aesthetic. The only thing half-odd about it is its fire-gilt type format which
is more normally seen in an earlier period of time and housed in high end
watches in precious metal...though the ref 1871 owns a more refind version of
this design
The design could have been the long awaited answer to circumnavigate the
anthracite and blue dials blemishing prematurely when the design incorporated
tritium being laid on said paint.
It may be helpful to document the model ref and case serial numbering.
Thank you for the info but why put it on it looks awful, i wont purchase this
watch due do that on the dial

If the model ref was known...it could be seen if the dial decoration was
paired with any morellis finish to the case middle.
