I am curious as to what the difference is between purchasing an IWC directly from a boutique or from an authentic dealer that carries IWC. I know the selection is probably greater at the boutique, but for this questions sake lets say that both the authentic dealer and boutique carry the timepiece I am looking for. I am reasonably close to both, but would like to learn more. Will both without question be real and directly from Schaffhausen? Will both come with box and papers? Will there be a difference between the amount I may be able to barter off the retail price? Would love for someone to help me out with these questions, and any other advice is more than welcome and appreciated.
    Thanks!

You are absolutely guaranteed to get a genuine IWC with all boxes, cartons, hangtags, paperwork and warranty cards from both an IWC Boutique and Authorised Dealer. At an Authorised Dealer you might be able to negotiate a discount if it is independant. You will not get a discount at a Boutique, but you will be assured of expert product knowledge and a relaxed shopping experience. Both outlets should be an equivalent experience so it's up to you. I suggest visit both and guage what will make your purchase a pleasure. Good luck.

Depending on which part of the world you are from.

Beside the experience or ambience setting, some ADs do provide parallel experience as the Btq.

It used to be zero discount with complimentary additional strap when you purchase from Btq but not anymore, you can get a small discount with additional strap now. As for AD, for regular pieces, you can get a sizeable discount, depending on your relationship and if you are looking for Btq exclusive piece, you will have to wait for a while before you can get it.

Good luck and looking forward to see your new incoming.

    Cheers!
