    Dear Sirs
I bought a gold Portofino and had problems due to the difficulty to read it. When the hands align with the hours/minutes marks it is impossible to read the time without a real effort. Specially if one wears glasses. The reason is that both hands look the same with a small difference in length which just disappear when the hands align with the time marks. For instances at 1:00 AM (or PM) it is difficult to differentiate from 12:05. Same happens in several other positions of the hands.
This makes this elegant watch to become a risk for users: after losing one flight and arriving late to the surgery of my daughter I stopped using it. The attendant at the shop where I bought says she heard many complaints on same issue and the general solution adopted by people is to stop using the watch on a daily basis. In the same Mall a watch seller and trader said he already traded 2 pieces for other brands (used) for same reason.
Gentlemen, I am sure IWC can find a way of keeping the elegance of this model and eliminate the problems it causes.
I would appreciate to know if/when IWC has a solution for this problem.

    Thank you

Well, knowing the problem is the start of the solution. Most of the time one checks the time the hands should not be a problem, the difference in size and shape should be clear enough. When the hands appear in a risky position, you should see that it could be difficult to see the difference, although the hour hand just is a bit wider, and the thick part a bit more to the center. Tilting your wrist a bit should reveal then which hand is which. But really, I never encountered this kind of problem with my 8 Days Handwound.

    Kind regards,
    Paul
