Last night, my wife and I attended a wonderful dinner with Herr Klaus in an IWC event with few other fellow collectors, here in Abu Dhabi. He is here for the Dubai Watch Week between 16-20 November 2016, as one of the esteem speakers.

The last time I met Kurt Klaus was a few years ago when he conducted a watchmaking session in La Cava in Rosewood Hotel, here in Abu Dhabi. La Cava is an underground wine cellar, a perfect setting for that memorable session.
Last night, the dinner was at Café Milano, Four Season Hotel, a beautiful restaurant with the wonderful Abu Dhabi skyline at its backdrop.
It was nice and calm evening where we shared stories, interest and just getting to know each other. Of course, we did talk about some watches and checked out each other’s timepiece.
My wife and I wore some classic timepiece for the evening, namely the Vintage Collection Portofino for me and the 75th Anniversary 8-days Portuguese, her favourite.
We enjoyed fantastic cuisine prepared by Chef Franco Sangiacomo and team. Our wonderful host Franco Nuschese, a renowned entrepreneur, joined us at the dinner table and graced us with his presence.

It was a great opportunity, which we are fortunate enough to come across again to meet the man who made such a difference in the watchmaking industry. His stories are all inspirational, told with such enthusiasm every time, sprinkled with the occasional humour.
Andrea from IWC introduced us with Vinsanto wine and biscotti dips. Yes, the special Italian way of dipping biscotti in a sweet Tuscany wine, before we part ways.
Many thanks and gratitude to the IWC team here, Benoît, Ahmad and Andrea for the invitation and organizing such a wonderful event. It is always great to meet new people and share the interest of watchmaking with other fellow collectors/enthusiasts, and in this case in the presence of our legendary watchmaker.
