While
scrolling IWC watches at Chrono24 I stumbled across what I thought was a IWC
cucumbre ...But then I saw it was not it was (and later I saw also other IWC
watches) threated with this DLC technology.
The idea is developed in the army ans a company Black Venom uses this
molecular coating with very high potential, born in the military field whit
great success in other sectors. Thanks to its composition it molds a real
shell capable of withstanding scratches and bumps up to 7-8 times more than
steel and 10-12 times more than gold. Contrary to treatments like PVD it is
totally reversible: it does not release any residue and gives an even more
magnetic black. A dense, deep black that joins the skin creating a hopelessly
elegant contrast.
QUESTIONS TO ALL:
- Has anyone seen this before or owns one?
- Does it devaluate, because the watch is not original anymore?
- what do you think / feel about it?
The cucumbre or the Galapagos black edition have rubber(black) coating as
well...
See some other pics of pilots and a few others on there site blackvenom.
let me know your thoughts Please.
