    Hi,

The number of wireless charging spots in the cafes continues to increase. Do they magnetize watches? When I read Powermat website, they don't mention about the magnetization and whether or not these spots are continuously on or activated with their unique ring. I just noticed my wrist sitting on one these spots for minutes. I'm just curious if anyone knows if we're supposed to be careful with them.

    Thanks!

    Those tools are no problem.

    But Just another example.

High frequency is used for many devises today, including cooking with induction cooking stoves, where very strong alternating magnetic fields act.

A problem with those stoves is theoretically possible, but only for watches with a soft iron inner case, when these watches are placed on the active surface.

A strong heating of the soft iron enclosure is possible due to the induction !?

Non-uniform magnetic fields with low energy are no problem for mechanical watches..

Critical are uniform magnetic fields from permanent magnets in smartphone covers, etc.

IWC make some great watches with anti-magnetic protection. I only wear Ingenieurs and Pilots watches with antimagenetic protection. All other watches which lack protection, I wear in a field away from 21st century devices. If it is raining, I might wear an Aquatimer.

Ipads and security screening are capable of messing up your unprotected watches.
