Curious what your thoughts are on the branding choice of IWC over International Watch Co? I would love to see some IWC's continue with the beautiful script of International Watch Co on the face of the watch..

I find IWC has even chosen to put IWC on the deployment buckles where in the past it was "International Watch Co" ...

Curious to see everyone's view and possibly understand the reasoning for the complete switch ..

I like both, but not on every watch. The old writing would make look the most Portuguese more classic, more haute horlogerie, whereas I could never imagine it on a tool watch.

In contrast to what classical marketing says when it comes to CD / CI, I think it could be a clecer decision to use both again.

I also like the the double branding showing both logos. The IWC just looks natural at the top and the script underneath is classic IMO.

My Golf Club uses the same script and IWC logo. It's my wife's watch most of the time.

I think which logo pleases me most is really a function of the model. The script woks nicely with a dress watch, but not for a sports watch, IMO.

    Sure. It's a ref. 1832, it's 36, coming from 1976.

The Fat Monster (the way I call it, usually and more properly called "The Tresor" or "The Fat Inge" is a lovely watch.

Thanks for sharing.. In the quick research I've done, it appears that this one is going to be a tricky one to find... The hunt starts I guess ;)

    You're definitely welcome.

The quest for one of the best sport watch ever made (not just by IWC) is never a waste of time :)

I am a purist I prefer the International Watch Co. with Schaffhausen
at the bottom that were found on the Original IWC's of the 1940's through to
the 1950's. It gives the dial a lot more class and elegance.

The 'good old days' were not always so good at that time. Nostalgia has to be treated carefully, and with respect I believe.
