Adelbaran , this is a very
difficult mission you have set yourself, and I am doubtful if you shall
succeed in finding a genuine IWC case for this great movement.
Having said that, this movement seems to fit pretty well in the case it's in
and if it was my project, I would simply focus on restoring that case where
everything is possoble from replating to polishing etc.
The movement of course can and should be fully served by a competant
watchmaker, and then there is only the remaining question/discussion as to
what to do with the dial? Either have it professionally restored, or leave it
as is with that patina which reflects the age of this movement which dates
from 1941.
