I started watch collecting at age 10. Now that I am 41 years of age I have gotten to the point in being a very proud and happy owner of a Vintage IWC Caliber 89. I no longer own the list of watches prior being a member of the IWC Forum back in May, but accidentally deleted the account while signing out one night.

    Kind regards,
    Simon

    Simon,

I'm truly impressed by the fact that for 31 years you have remembered with such accuracy and recorded your acquisions. Your passion for collecting at such a young age has apparently been quite the influence on where you are today.

It appears from the list that you acquired at least a new addition (on average) every year. How exciting that must be "keeping the fire alive" over such a timeframe. The excitement of "What's next?" is what I think we all share here. The feeling of obtaining that first IWC is magical and sets the collecting bar to a new level.

Can't wait to hear what IWC will become the next entry on your list.

BTW, my list from age 10:

    Age 10 - Sears..Timex..4.95USD
    + 1 sec per year
    No servicing needed so far

    Age 58-60 - IWC,IWC,IWC,IWC,IWC,IWC, IWC (on order)

Wear your watches with good health and happiness always,

    Andy

    Actually Andy,

I usually keep track of all the watches I own just in the event if one or all ever get stolen from the house.

There are some in the list which I bought 4-5 at once due to being parts watches and the owner just want to liquidate them for a small price. These were later cleaned and serviced with upgraded leather straps or genuine crocodile, depending on the brand.

Keep in mind that I no longer sell but to buy in order to enjoy the fruits of my labour. My latest acquisition at the moment is a 1948 Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 478/C round dial in stainless steel, this watch will be in my possession on Aug.21 (hopefully).

I am still optimistic that in the near future a Vintage IWC ref.810 Caliber 8541 in stainless steel would sit next to my IWC Caliber 89 alongside a Vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber K911 stainless steel Memovox would find its way sitting next to my Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 478/C.

For now,my beloved IWC Caliber 89 is a stepping stone into the world of high-end luxury watch.

    Kind regards,
    Simon
