David Seyffer, IWC's museum curator, a friend of all collectors, a true scholar and a really great guy, just wrote a new article on the history of the Da Vinci model. You can access it by clicking here.

Excellent article on my favourite IWC line. I'm looking forward to the relaunch of the Da Vinci line, whenever that may happen.

Brilliant account of this historic, and important Renaissance in watchmaking.

I like the accounts of the eve of the Basel show, and how Kurt Klaus was dealing with the dial maker and assembling the movements at the last minute - and the anxiety of the team. Sounds familiar to me in my line of work...

This was another excellent chronicle by Dr. Seyffer. I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about IWC history. The Da Vinci is a particular favorite of mine.

The Da Vinci Kurt Klaus perpetual is a piece that I really loved to have. There is so much history and genius inside and tribute to a great watchmaker, engineer and a kind and humble man that I admire so much. The tonneau design really is amazing and I don't understand at all why the market isn't accepting it more.
Indeed one could say that without Kurt Klaus and the Da Vinci IWC's history would have taken a completely different path.
A great and interesting read. David Seyffer enriches IWC's history work very much with his great understanding, knowledge and dedication.
    Thanks for sharing.

A very interesting and well written article. It seems typical of genius to me that what once was a revolution is so obvious and common right now. The article makes me a proud owner again of the first Portuguese Perpetual Calendar in yellow gold, a watch Herr Klaus has worn for years, as he once told me.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I've come to expect such informative and well written articles from our Dr. Seyffer, and once again, I'm not disappointed.

It is great IWC recognizes the importance of having such a specialist within the walls of IWC- everyone benefits.

David Seyffer masters the skill of combining the pure historical part of the Da Vici story together with the emotions and feelings of those who were involved in creating this revolutionary watch. His overview reads as a thriller.
    Chapeau!
