In another post today Paul (Sunflower) highlighted a previous post by Shing that I too had missed.

In the post Shing says; "One surprising fact that I learnt over the weekend, is that you can actually order and purchase newly made IWC pocket watches, complete with an engraving per your instructions to cement your first ownership."

Here is some examples of engraving from the 2004 workbook

Thank you Shing, Paul and Greg, I missed that too, I wasn't aware of this offering by IWC.

Do they use chinese lacquer for colors or a different process?

Very nice, thank you for showing. This I really did not know, although this happens to be mentioned in the 2008 catalogue too, without the examples of course: you really should read the catalogue from back to back.

I truly like the third example, 8070: not only is it very fitting, those letters are also in the way I learned to write them in Argentina long, long ago.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Roberto,

I haven't checked in a while, but to my knowledge IWC doesn't do color work here --they do not have an "enameler" on staff to my knowledge. I only know 3 brands that do. They do have engraving specialists however.

Thank you Michael for the precious info, page 195 with coats of arms and related color options sent me off-road.

Roberto --I didn't catch that. If I can, I'll check next week while in Schaffhausen.

Roberto --iPad changed your name, and now won't let me edit! I'll correct this shortly; sorry.

No need Michael, I came to same conclusions after searching the meaning of Rover in the dictionary, just to be sure :)

Thank you instead for taking care.
