F1 AMG Mercedes IWC watches

Honest question- other than putting stickers on the cars and paying a
sponsorship/ licencing fee- does IWC actually provide any expertise in time
keeping/ instrumentation in the cars etc? In other words- is it a marketing
partnership, or one based on technical expertise/ provision of high precision
timing devices?

That's an awesome collection of parts and watch there Tonny!

The watch is already super special and beautiful plus the rear wing is
priceless and impossible to get for normal mortals. Congrats on both.

I have an AMG Ingenieur with a carbon dial from the era before IWC was
sponsoring the F1 team. It's to celebrate 45 years of AMG.

These were the days when cars were still related to Ingenieur watches for the
element Earth.

Lewis Hamilton and his preference of IWC's Pilots watches have changed that a
lot.

Maybe a lucky coup for IWC. Pilots watches went through the roof since then
even more than before.

Now let's see what the Ingenieur will bring into the future. A highly
underrated prduct family at IWC so far!

Exactly as suspected- a marketing exercise. I know this stuff is necessary and
sells watches, but it honestly leaves me cold.

I mean- I also have a passion for high-level engineering...
