Finally! After waiting and working so long, I have finally acquired my first real time piece, the 3717-01 Pilot Chrono! I've been looking at this piece for the past year, that and the 500114 Portuguese 7-day. But I figured I am not quite ready for that piece just yet and should start off small. But I am more than happy with this piece, the timing on it is spot on, and very comfortable to wear. This is a piece I will pass down to my kids.

Can't wait to slap on a brown alligator and a couple of nato straps!

Congratulations on your new watch, it will not disappoint you. Welcome to the forum where you can learn and share about your new virus, the IWC "I have to have that one next" virus. No known cure (thank God) but its fun.
    Wear it in good health.
    Regards,
    Kevin

That's a wonderful watch. It looks great on black or brown, and for a nice change see if you can pick up the bracelet for it, which provides yet another look and feel.

3717 has to be one of the most flexible, best every-day wear watches around. Congratulations on a terrific choice.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your wonderful piece!

Don't forget to treat it bad; as an old print ad was used to say, it'll become more attractive, the older it'll get, just like a man.

    Enjoy it!

Magnificent - and let it be known, there is "nothing small" about that watch!

It's a great start, and you should wear it in good health. The longer you wear it (in terms of days) the quicker the uber virus will spread itself, and all to soon your mind will start to wonder on to thoughts of the 7 day watch.

Enjoy - enjoy and thanks for sharing.

    Best regards
    Mark

My first IWC was a 3717 Spitfire.. I remember walking out of the AD with the biggest smile on my face as I've always wanted an IWC..

Congrats! You've picked up an amazing watch right there..

    James:

You are correct. The timing could not have been better as the 3717 is now retired. You chose, which I regard as the best IWC "overall value". You get a lot of watch for a excellent price and it shows so well with the many strap options. Along with the Black/Brown croc strap, try a "soft" Top Gun nylon or a St. Exupery for even more great looks.

Congrats and good health to you. Enjoy the feeling of your first. Believe it or not, with your next one and the ones after that, the feeling only gets better!

    Regards,

    Andy
