Sorry the picture quality is not that great, but here it is. I just recieved the Extract and found out that it is a Cal. 89, lig. 12, ref. 564 that sold in September 1957. I want to send it back to IWC for a "Spa Treatment." Does anyone know if they will replace the dial with one that has the same layout or will they just clean this one up?

I would have them replace the dial; candidly yiou have a poor redial here. They will come quite close to the real original dial with what they will do.

By redial, do you mean that it was already replaced once? I only know the history from about 1970 when my dad had it. If it was changed, it would have been before that because I am pretty sure that he didn't have it done. I am going to take it to the IWC store at the Venetian Hotel Casino and have them send it back to be worked on. Any idea on how long its typically takes or how much I should expect to spend?

I don't think the dial was replaced --it was "repainted" by an unauthorized repairer who had, with repsect, little skill. Please note the printing of International Watch Co. Schaffhausen --it's what I sometimes teasingly call "dial by Crayola" --the lines are all inexact and don't look like regular dials from that era.

IWC will do best by getting a new dial for it that will look like the original. I don't think they will have any in stock, and so they have to contract with a dial supplier to have one made. That will probably take six months or so. I don't know the price, but the overhaul and new dial combined could somewhat exceed 1000 USD.

Thank you for your help. I will report back on the time it takes and print pictures of the finished version.

Tio, no matter how long it takes (and don't hold your breath - it could be many moons) it will certainly be well worth the wait and will come back looking great.

Please do post a set of Before and After shots, when it does come back "home'.

    Best regards

One of the fundamental to be unnamed watch stores in Caesar's had a couple of
unique edition IWC's on show. The RG white dial BP and a RG ardoise dial
Potoguieser Automatic source. The latter is
    lovely, imho.
