Finally!

Well, I ordered it back in May and thought it would be shipped from Geneva the first week in October. But it took a little longer. Then, it was supposed to be delivered November 7. But U.S. Customs held it up for two weeks while they tried to figure out why a SS watch cost so much. And no, the croco strap was sent separately and arrived 10 days ago. So that was not a factor in the delay. But this morning I am finally wearing my new Big Pilot Perpetual. And it is a beauty. I can't stop staring at it.
Setting the time and date was easier than I thought after following a few simple rules.
This is a watch that , for me, combines the desirable Big Pilot with the unbelievable perpetual mechanism in an open back view. It is my "grail" watch.

There was one in the window two Saturday's ago in a Basel AD at about 0915 in the morning. I met my girlfriend for lunch and told her I need to show her something special - it is getting close to Xmas shopping (yes-I am very very optimistic) - but when we got to the window it was not there. I naively thought that it was being tried on by someone - but last Saturday I went in to ask for a closer look - but the sales assistant informed me that it has been sold at before 10 am (the previous week) by a walk-by customer from outside the EU.
