Had to give myself a treat for my 40th. After hours of online research & various visits to the IWC boutique it came down to the Yacht Club 2015 edition. I couldn't be happier :)

    Thanks all.

At first my mind was set for the new Chronograph Classic (3904). However the rounded crystal didn't give me a 'clean' enough look. When I saw the slightly larger size and flat crystal of the Yacht Club I knew it was the one. Initially I even thought the rubber strap isn't ideal until I realized everything about the 390503 is perfect :)

Just some background about my selection process...

    Good choice PATRIK.

For the new Yacht club has a slightly smaller diameter 43.5mm as compared to previous model. But it fits your wrist well.

    Congrats to a great watch!

I my opinion the new YC benefits a lot from the slighlty reduced diameter, and the ardoise dial.., a true favourite of mine.

    Best

yes fully agree (even though I've only seen the old YC version in pictures).
White outer ring would have been too sporty and a 45.4mm diameter probably a bit too large.

And the best change of course is the Ardoise vs a Black dial...

Big congratulations on a great watch and a warm welcome to the forum!

The Ardoise dial is a winner, fantastic!
The white outer ring of its predecessor was indeed more sporty. I don't know if it would fit the Ardoise dial well or not. That white ring fitted the black dial very well in my taste.

Last week I had the chance to test the new model on my wrist and just for me it is just the 2mm too small that it lost right now. Others judge differently. It depands of course very much on the wrist.

Your new watch seems to fit your wrist perfectly from your great pictures.
I adore your movement pic as well - fantastic!

Hi Patrik, congrats & wear it in good health! It's a fantastic choice, I tried it on at SIHH this year and the new size is perfect for my smaller wrists as well, and that dial!!!

    Best,

    B.
