    Hi

I am considering buying this watch and just wondering if somebody could
provide a bit more of imformation about the watch crown and movement.I think
the is not authentic as I have not seen any similar to this one but I may
likely be wrong as I am not an expert at all.

Any information you could provide will be very welcome!!

    Many thanks

Both movement and crown seem 100 % authentic.

    Hi Adria

Many thanks for the answer, I have tried to find a similar fish logo but all I
have seen are more simpler so I assume was maybe a later adding. Could you
please inform me if this caliber 853 is reliable? I am not much into IWC
    watches...

    Many thanks

T know for sure we need the movement number and the case number ( look between
    the lugs).

In general, the cal 853 was a further development of cal 852 and later on came
    8541.

It is one of the most famous and best Swiss automatic watch movements ever,
equipped with the Pellaton winding system.

Very much sought after by IWC collectors.

    Adrian,

    (alwaysiwc).

Even the FISH symbol on the crowns has changed over the years.
You are lucky, your "Fish" is the old original symbol !
Later crowns have got abstract fish symbols, less detailed.

Most crowns have been changed at services and got the later variants.

Thanks! Based on the Fish logo is it possible to date the watch??I assume is
late 60s or 70s but not certain at all.
