    Hi there,

This evening, I have been experimenting with the flash function and long exposure times. Here is the best shot of a series of about 12:

Technical info: f/13, 6 seconds exposure time, ISO 800, focal length 56 mm, flash sync on the 2nd curtain.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Here is another one with some real movement. Syncing the flash on the 2nd curtain makes for a trailing blur instead of having the blurred part in front of the object. This way, motion looks more natural.

Clemens, both photos are amazing, well done!!!

I'm far from a photography expert, but it looks like you you had a time exposure of seven seconds.

How do you do that for so long without washing out the photo?

    Thanks!

I like your experiment! Especially your 'ghost' arm is very cool :)

Hi Nad, by using a small aperture, high iso and underexposing the flash by 2 full stops. I had the camera on the tripod, used the mirror lock-up feature to reduce movement and also had it on a 2 second timer so I didn't have to touch the camera to take the shot.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Clemens, is that all????!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Just kidding. Very nice results, but I don't think that my point & shoot Leica v-Lux 20 can do all that!

Somehow almost missed this post! Stunning photos and me here ever more amazed Clemens, at your technical prowess with a camera.

I need to bring the blue PPPC around to your "studio" so that you can take a couple of pro photos of it! LOL

    Best regards
    Mark
