    Hello fellow IWC lovers,

Bought a Portugieser Yacht Club with rubber strap and folding clasp a good
    year ago.

Always opend the clasp by pulling with a fingernail below the IWC Probus part
of the clasp; always worked fine.

Recently I bought a Portugieser Automatic with alligator strap and again
    folding clasp.

When using the same technique as above to open the clasp I found it extremely
hard to open it. So hard that often the clasp little pin who's attaching the
clasp to the strap would get off the hole of the strap.

Went back to the IWC shop where I bought it to complain and to my big surprise
the vendor told me " You're doing it wrong. To open the clasp you should
gently pull the end of the strap".

    Which effectively works well.

So, now I'm wondering, did I really do it wrong on my yacht Club for a year?

What's the "correct" technique to open the clasp?

    Cheers

    Birdy

For me personally, I don't think there's a right or wrong way as long and
there's no damage to the strap or clasp.

I put a finger between the underside of the strap and the clasp and pop it
open. Been doing it that way for years with no issues.

I grab the clasp/logo left and right (between index finger and thumb) and pull
    up. Works for me.

Just can't do that; way to hard, afraid I would damage the mechanism.
