    Hi.

Been reading frizzellweb, but ended up more puzzled. It does say some of the
dials may not have been original to the watch.

It also says it is difficult to judge what is original.

But what is "correct"? For example, there was one with a smaller
SCHAFFHAUSEN, and one with a dial that says SWISS MADE.

Have seen one with - SWISS -

Some seem to have a different font for International Watch Co.

Should one stay away from them or are they ok?

You're mixing different into originality...can only lead to confusion.

You are correct. I must have muddled myself.

When looking at dials of another brand, they have "swiss" "swiss made"
    "fab.suisse" etc underneath.

On top, they have no logo, then logo with various arrangements of the words.
The more sporty dials have "long E" "Simpson's dial" etc.

Their community seems to have a consensus that those were the variations that
the brand created over the years and that those were all original.

So I was just trying to find out more about IWC, granted that IWC was a
    smaller brand.

    Anyway, thanks for replying.

N'worries fella...try and study very poor conditioned watches....for a better
    barometer reading.
