FLEEKK: Thank you for your observation regarding black dial. It was a bit tricky to photograph. Next acquisition regrettably will not be an IWC but the one after it surely will be. I don't have an IWC Pilot yet. This must be corrected in time.
SKULE: May I say that I was torn between my model and yours? In the end I chose to go black firstly as it is less dressy and secondly for the double moon. Thank you for your re-confirmation of the on-wrist appearance. It is my largest non-sports watch so naturally I am not totally used to the size.
BOB BUNNIK: Glad you enjoyed the pics, Bob. And I agree with you. There is something special about IWC perpetual calendar. It is a nice one to have indeed.
Congratulations on this awesome acquisition, Ruckdee. Enjoy this amazing watch to the full, as it looks like you are already. Very happy for you.
Congratulations Ruckdee ... that is one sensational Portuguese.
And thanks for all the thoughts on the watch. You must be very proud.
My favourite is the IW502306, but that is just out of the budget for the time being. In the meantime , I shall enjoy my newly acquired Portofino 8 Day and keep the Portuguese close in my sights .
Cheers
Neil.
Hello gentlemen,
I have finally gotten around to joining this great forum.
As a long standing member of TimeZone, I have been fortunate to own many fine time pieces over the years including Rolex , Breitling and Omegas of various models.
However , of late I have found myself drifting strongly toward IWC.
As we all know, this is a brand that covers a 6 model range and I must say that there are very few watches in IWCs line up that do not attract my attention. The latest Portofino
s in particular, the manual wind 8 Day 510103 have really appealed to me over time and Im proud to say that, now , as an owner of this watch, I
m even more impressed with the workmanship and general quality of IWC watches.
Most of the Portuguese, Pilot and Ingenieur range have attracted my attention. The Portuguese 7 day Automatic ( IW 500114 ) and the Pilots Antione De Saint Exupery Chrono (IW387806) in particular are watches that I hope will soon be part of my modest IWC collection.
I shall look forward to participating here and hope that I can too add some value and input to my fellow IWC enthusiasts on the IWC forum.
Thank you ladies and gents ... I shall soon attempt to post some shots of my Portofino 8 day for your perusal.
Cheers
Neil.
MR_INKWELL: It's always good to see you. Thank you. This watch has been to some places and surely more as opportunity arises.
NEILFOWLER: Thank you for your kind comment. I can already see how your current Portofino and your future Portuguese can compliment each other side by side. And don't forget to share a few pics of your Portofino soon. Owner pics always add personality to a watch.
Thanks Ruckdee
Pictures of the 510103 arriving soon.

Somehow I missed this post, my belated congratulations on this amazing timepiece! Enjoy and wear it in good health and please post some pictures now and then. The pictures from this post are great and I am looking forward to more!
Kind regards,
Clemens
Not to worry, Clemens, and thank you very much for the kind compliments. I get one decent photo out of maybe 10 attempts so you can imagine how many bad pics there are sitting in my hard drive. Anyway, surely I will come up with new good ones as opportunity arises. Thank you.

Trying to bring back this thread posted some months ago.
I was wondering any new picture to view for this amazing piece?
I am contemplating the 5032 in blue dial but I got a question, will the movement have a magnetic issue going through the airport security machine scan since it is not caged.
Sorry for the bump but I just want to say the pictures shown in this thread are the most amazing 5032 Portuguese Perpetual I have seen so far. Big thumbs up for the OP!
Rgds
Ben
No problem on this so far.
Amazing picks Ruckdee! Congrats! The watch is simply stunning, especially in warm rose gold case. I agree with some comments above that IWC does make one of the best looking perpetual calendar watches you can find on the market currently.
Cheers
JK
Probably the most beautiful watch I've ever seen. Big congratulations on that one! :-)
So glad this post came up again - its a tribute to a fine owners spirit, and a fantastic Watch.
A good friend of mine, Lucio - recently acquired this same watch, his Grail Watch as a Chritmas present and he too, is over the moon with it!
hey man your pics are simply beautifull, you got good lenses, don't you?!? I'm drooling on the pc!
I love IWC's perpetuals and the tone of this rose gold is simply great but I don't know if I would feel confortable in wearing it around: I'm thinking to security; may be the steel version like the one of BENLEE123 would be "easier" to wear, more understated. I'd like to know your opinion.
BenLee's "steel" version is in fact a white gold which is even slightly more precious than the rose gold.
I'd wear both of them one on each wrist with pleasure and pride - if I only could make one of them ;-)
me too! :)
