Forum modifications

Dear Collectors and friends of IWC,

A lot of things happened after the SIHH and the launch of our new website. Amongst other things we are working intensely on additional language versions like German or Chinese.

Now we are pleased to give you an update about the first step of forum optimizations to be realized. The following new functions and modifications will be implemented by the end of June:

-Read/unread-visibility
-Edit posts
-Optimized search function
-Emails between users
-Optimized moderator functions

In the meantime we are working with high pressure on bugs like “Display of recent discussions”, “same Alias” etc. to have them solved as soon as possible.

We are already planning to add further improvements after that on a regular basis.

Thank you IWC; the first two points mentioned are particularly useful, IMO. The lack of a read/unread feature has been very off-putting for me.

Thanks for your update, Oliver. I know you have been working diligently to improve the Forum functionality. The changes in the wind will be much appreciated by the users. I bet you will see an uptick in usage as these fixes will resolve bugs that were annoying, but not deadly.

Dominique and team, great to see that with full support of your management you have been listening to and now fullfilling our needs. Indeed thank you IWC, Oliver and your entire team - we really do appreciate your support.

I hope you will also update the time stamps to 24 h notation and date stamps to Day/Month/Year (4 digit).

Thanks this is good to know. I must say for a while, I was wondering if the current design was intentional - not that I am saying its bad, because the limited function puts the onus on forum users (I feel) to slow things down, to focus, and recall what / where was discussed.
