No, we didn’t get winter weather. We have been enjoying a wonderful Spring, with flowers and trees blooming beautifully. So what’s up with Frosty?

When I first saw pictures of the white Aquatimer 2000 last Fall and Winter, the bright white expanses of the dial, markers, hands, and date wheel reminded me of the ice and snow that fell in far greater quantities than usual this past winter.

It always brought to mind a scene from Dr. Zhivago.

Quite a chunky beast, and surprisingly heavy, especially since I bought it on bracelet. I greatly prefer sporty watches to be on bracelets, and I really don’t care for rubber straps.

It feels a bit top heavy. That could be because I still need to adjust the bracelet slightly. Also, the two watches I have worn most frequently recently are the thin and comfortable Pisa Portugieser and a rather light titanium 3536 Aquatimer.

I really like the redesigned bracelet, which I find to be far more appealing than the older GST bracelets. I suppose the polished center links are likely to be scratch magnets, but those will be badges of honor and I know IWC can always make it look new

Adding a ½ link is a great improvement. I may have forgotten, but I don’t remember them being there on my several pilot watch bracelets or my GST’s.

Thank you thank you, IWC, for that great little yellow tip on the second hand.

If I get used to the thickness and weight, “Frosty” will get a lot of wear, probably alternating with “Plain Jane” (my Pisa Portugieser)

I’m happy to have finally joined the large fan club for this model!
