    Dear all,
I would like to know if this is an original IWC watch (Miramar Top Gun). I would appreciate if you coul help me.
Thanks very much for your time and attention, Marianne

At first glance it looks alright to me. It's not a Doppel and not a Miramar. But a Top Gun Chrono is possible.

    Gentlemen
Thank You for responding to this post, but I really think we shouldn’t be itemizing the inconsistency of watches brought up for authenticity checks.
This checklist can just be used by the fakers to improve their work.

Getting back to the OP, this watch could be Top Gun Chronograph IW3789.01
But it is really hard to say as there is not enough detail in the pictures and a complete lack of context to make a call.

I can't see anything in these photos that tells me this is a fake - it certainly appears authentic to me. However, as Mark notes, there is not enough information here to confirm authenticity either.

Agree more info is needed. It appears to be a legit 1st model Top Gun. My understanding is the decal on the caseback was under glass. Not sure if that is correct, but if true, it might be a factor in helping to confirm authenticity.

Mark Fleminger is bringing up here an interesting point.
Many "apprentices" ask for a verdict about an intended  or completed purchase or an inherited watch ( nearly always from grandfather).
Often several collectors and experts immediately answer the question genuine or fake, including mentioning the details they have spotted.
After that, some apprentices thank the forum members, many do not but rarely ever is heard afterwards from these interested buyers or heirs.
Much better would it be to refer to catalogues, brochures and articles present  on the forum and/or the internet, so that the interested person can look for himself instead of summing up a checklist of details as many of us do in good faith.(including me).
    Just my Euro 0,02
    Adrian,
    (alwaysiwc).

Its funny, I was reading through the forum last night and always spotting new posts from new members to validate a watch if its fake or not. Within the answers are so many great details that I had the feeling it could help potential bad people to make their fakes even better. Its a fine line, as I personally would like to learn and educate myself here with all the fantastic knowledge.
