Great article, thank you for showing! It describes exactly what I wanted to know. These new developments in producing high quality workhorse movements at IWC are exciting, they show trust in the future and in the strength of IWC to meet the challenges ahead. I am looking forward to the new models that will house these movements.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I would like to add that to me the most interesting quote of Mr. Ihnen is: “technically the cal. 69000 chronograph is not the most challenging for the watchmaker in me, but it is produced in a way that makes the engineer in me very proud”.

So the engineering facilities of ETA are replaced by the in-house facilities of IWC. It makes me wonder whether one 42000 based movement will become the base for a real worldtimer movement, using the complication developed by Kurt Klaus. To me, the Timezoner is not a real worldtimer, more a GMT type of watch. Yet, an in-house worldtimer movement for a such a worldtimer watch would be quite exciting to me.

    Kind regards,
    Paul
