If you have followed that famous community auction site FleaBay lately, you might have noticed that a particular IWC recently had quite a run.  I am not surprised- the 3705 reference should be more noticed and appreciated.  Here is mine-

What other IWC's in your opinion, should be more 'popular' or recognized?

Yes, it´s getting a burner, as I had expected many years ago :-)

I bought my 3705 at 2004, but exchanged the glass with a modern non reflecting glass and SL dial/hands and kept the T-dial, T-hands and glass.

I got my 3705 relatively late, but still well below 1/3 of what I've seen it go for. I dont see too many collectable IWCs when attending vintage watch gatherings, but this one always gets attention. I think the size and material make it very attractive to newbies and veteran collectors alike.

Getting popular on an auction site gives mixed signals: people apparently want to, or have to, get rid of a certain watch. But if the price is high one might assume the watch is in demand, thus not underrated. A watch I like and that isn't seen that often is the Vintage Collection Portuguese. It always looked dull in the shop window, but is kicked into life on the wrist.

Very very good question Nelson, well... any (titanium) GST is heavily undervalued in my opinion, but mostly the Perpetual GST! Can you imagine, same Kurt Klaus genius (+Valjoux chrono) and going in good second hand state for (well) below 10k€ or $ !!!!

    Best,

    Bob

The one that is mentioned here from the "fleabay" went rather low for a full set watch. An English auction house hammered a head only 3705 for 9000 GBP in November last year. Let's not forget 24% of buyers premium on top of that. My point is that 3705 has been enjoying the status of an elusive legend - there's simply too few of them out there to satisfy the growing demand for vintage and neo-vintage pieces.
