Hello there everyone,

As some of you might know, my target is now to really downsize my collection to a managable scale and focus on the extremely nice IWC pieces only. ( which basicly every IWC is, but you get my point).

The watch that takes nr1 on my list at the moment is the ref 5251. I have been in contact with a gentleman who is willing to sell me his when I have made up my mind a 1000%. For which I am extremely gratefull.

But since I am such a young fellah, I have to make choices and I can not go for every watch I see obviously. So I went looking around for other pieces to make sure that I would absolutely not even taste a hint of regret in the future.

I have been talking to our great friend who happens to have a great collection of IWC Perpetual Calendar watches. This made me think.

I love white metals.
I love the Portuguese
I love the Perpetual Calendar
I love the old school appeal of the double moon

Therefore, the thought of going for a 5021 or 5032 are seriously eating at me. I know for sure that I can't go wrong with either of those pieces , but I am looking for your advice.

I also really like the idea of having a time-only grail (my Pisa 5441-07) and having a complicated grail.

Please help a brother out and don't be shy to share some amazing pictures.

I like the 5032, tried it and it is fantastic! Any thoughts on the 5034-06 below?

The Portugeiser Perpetual Calendar is definitely my IWC grail watch but personally the 5034-05 is perfection to me

I think the newer versions of the double moon are really nice. Especially the Jubilee version. This being said, I don't think they are the nicest out there. I dislike the stars on moon phase sundial.

Also financially out of reach.

I can not provide any advice because I am not impartial.  I own a 5251 that I am currently offering for sale.  I have always found it to be a true IWC classic, and remember Hannes Pantli telling me the story of "the watch that saved IWC".  I also remember during my first visit to Schaffhausen that  IWC Museum curator Tanya Waring told me that at that time "it was my most desired piece for the IWC Museum".  I was able to direct her to one for sale, which she promptly bought and placed in the Museum. See?  Hardly impartial.  But I can at least provide some pictures!

White gold and ardoise - razzle dazzle! Single moon is my preference.

Hello Koen,
I recommend 5021-11, the first version of the PPC with slow beat caliber, a time piece very clean and in "silver" colours as you prefer.

Coen,
Some advice....
Go for the In 1993, introduced limited edition series watch to commemorate the company's 125th anniversary!
This watch, ThePortuguese Limited Edition Jubilee, is considered one of the most desirable watches for You (as the modern day watch collector).
I'm sure (no really convinced) that if it gets on your wrist, it does not leave it again.
And in combination of your PISA it is a great addition (!)

But  (of course) its not for DIVING..
so perhaps you should forget about it and buy a REAL IWC (lol)
cheers

Koen, what about the PISA Perpetual? It would complement your ohter PISA perfectly. Just so hard to find! Go out to reach the stars my friend!

Koen, without a doubt, got to go with Tilo on this one. The Pisa Perpetual would be the ultimate. Rare yes...but with patience, dreams do come true !

Calling lucky Bob Bunnick ( or anyone else fortunate ) for a shot of that Perpetual beauty .
