I'm new to this forum, but it is not going to stop me from sharing one of my favorite timepieces.

Here comes the Vintage Ingenieur RG 1881 Hong Kong Flagship Limited Edition I bought earlier this year at HKIA. Ref: 323313 (the one on the left)

It is a reinterpretation of the first Ingenieur of 1955 with automatic movement, Pellaton winding, date display, engraved sapphire glass back. Limited to 188 watches in red gold.

Thank you Michael, indeed this is my first RG IWC, took me 2 weeks to make the purchase decision as there was limited information on this one. There were a few floating around here in HKG and hope that someone could pick them up soon as it is a very beautiful Ingenieur, like the vintage look. Thanks for the compliments and blessing!

Hello David, I woke up and saw yours and others' posts, I am a happy man now because when I pressed the submit button, it said...your article will be reviewed...please contact IWC...". That happened to me before and my previous post didn't get through, but this one did it...so happy. Yes...this one has a special meaning as I was born in HKG, it is my home. Thanks for the comment.
Just out of curiosity, are you now based in China?

Jim, thanks a lot for your compliment. I am very pleased to touch base with you all. Giving me an international perspective. You know a purchase decision is not easy to make, if I had known this forum before, I could have asked many questions and sought feedbacks before purchase, making the process less "lonely" and more enjoyable.

    Cheers...Kelvin F.

    Hello Kevin
Vintage pieces (I guess you guys call it VT here, double check before I start using it) are sometimes more appealing. While different brands are competing each other with their advanced tech and complications, it is the definitely the look and feel of those VT watches that first brough people to those great watches. IWC has the magic of making elegant watches, simple and yet stunning design (like the new Portuguese Hand-wound 8 Days) dispite of the fact that some most complicated movements are hiding inside the case...

    Thank you!

    Kelvin,

Oh my...what a knockout ! The VC ( Vintage collection ) Inge is a Forum favorite in all the many variations that have been offered. For example, " Tribute To Italy " & Laureus Edition.

From what I can see, is the difference in the LE you have, the dial color and the engraved back compared to the other, or is there more ?

    Thanks for any feedback,

    Andy

Yes, a very personal one...ONE OF 188...EIGHT is a lucky number in our society. EIGHT rhymes with RICH in our Cantonese language. The number also reminds me of 1881 Heritage IWC BT, which is the world's 1st IWC FLAGSHIP Boutique, setting the example for many others to come. Of course, "HONG KONG" engraved, a place where I was born, educated, got married...It does mean something to me.

    Cheers!!!

Thank you. Both 323313 and 323312 are great, same price, but XXXX13 is limited to 188, Celebrating HKG Flagship BT's 3rd Anniversary...so got it. Another consideration is its movement, I didn't have any movement in the 8XXXX family at that time...perhaps the most appealing feature is its dial, the colors are great.

    Hi KYCF,

Congrats to your very first RG VT Inge, it is really a stunner.

I was wondering do you know the difference between these two, 332313 & 12? Is it just the dial color?

Hope to see this on my next visit to HK in coming December.

Would love to see a wrist shot soon.

I never thought of owning an Ingenieur before...as I can't carry them nicely. So when I saw this VC Inge, I changed my mind as it is a bit closer to a dress watch...can wear it with suit, first RG, limited edition, etc. I am glad that I made the decision. I am a happy owner now. Thank you for your compliment.
