I'm here for a collectors' dinner on Saturday to show the new Forum Da Vinci, and also just for the good times of getting together. A few poor souls, trapped in a giant snowstorm outside of the New York, weren't able to make the trip but the rest of us will have a great time.

Actually, some of us have started early. We had a special lunch today with IWC executives. At the table, from left to right are, Lisa Pilkington (IWC), Nelson Herring, Larry Seiden, Emily Kwan (IWC), David Polakoff, Benoit de Clerck (IWC's President for North America), your moderator, and Frederick Martel (IWC).

If you feel left out --there's hope for something very special. We are planning to have a major IWC collectors' meeting this Spring, probably in Beverly Hills. We've tossed around several ideas --major IWC people coming over from Schaffhausen, a preview of all major 2010 novelties, perhaps a watch school, a grand dinner, etc. We're thinking that we can accommodate up to 50 collectors and even have a hotel package. As plans come together, I'll report more here. I would urge even our friends in other countries to join us --this could be very special.

    Regards,
    Michael

I'm one of the poor souls trapped in the storm...

I am very sorry I could not make the GTG to see not only the CFDV (again), but also to make new acquaintances as well as renewing old ones.

Have fun everyone. I am sorry I could not join you. With a predicted two feet of snow in my drive way, getting to NYC is just not in the cards this time.

MF, post more pictures so I can have a vicarious experience.

    Enjoy and ciao,

    Bill

    Uh oh. Looks like trouble...

Greetings - hope you have a great meeting.

When you get Larry, Nelson, and David together - it can turn into a late night - especially when Larry is still on Pacific Time.

Why I am not in NYC : (

Woke up this morning with about 15" of snow in my driveway and it is to continue snowing all day today. Sadly I will miss all the fun and seeing everyone who did make it.

Quite a crew you have there! We have

about 12 inches (30 centimeters) on the ground this morning with 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) yet to come. That's a lot of snow for the Columbus, Ohio area!

The neighbors laughed at me when the movers unloaded my monster Chicago snowblower from the truck when we moved in. They laughed at me when I never took it out of the garage since then until yesterday. But they're not laughing now!

I cleared all the neighbors' sidewalks while wearing a sign:

    "Will do driveway for cookies"

No BBQ today. And, it's still falling

Reports show only a trace of snow right now. Boy, the snow gods worked against the Philadelphia area collectors even having a chance to get into the city and joining in your fun.

    Another victim of the storm

Like Bill, I too am trapped by the storm. I actually plowed my driveway and ventured out but even with dedicated snow tires and awd, the drive to the train station was too dangerous so I turned around. Instead, I 'll put on CFI #39, make a nice fire in the fireplace, open a bottle of wine and toast my fellow forumers in NYC. Sorry I could not make it. Have a wonderful time and thanks to IWC for the invitation.
    Regards,
    Dan
