The Bear (Ours) at 6 is the Swiss hallmark for Silver, that much I know. The Sterling Silver 0,935 is self-explanatory.
I can't find, however, any reference to indicate where it was engraved. Because it is in English it suggests it was engraved in the US at the time of importation. Is this a correct assumption?
I have been unable of finding this particular design among all the US Silver hallmarks. Anyone knows?
BTW, the Forum Archives are currently of no help because, for some reason, they show only one entry.

    Request to Isobars,,,

I recall you are also the proud owner of a Silver Pallweber destined to the US market. Can you check if it has the same hallmarks? Thanks.

Hi Clepsydra. I had a look at my Pallweber >

and it does not have the half moon and crown as yours. It only says "SWISS" and S/N beneath.

Sorry I am not of more help to you.

    Misundertanding...

What I was looking for in your Pallweber was the "Sterling Silver 0,935" mark, but I guess it is not there either.
Do you have the Extract for your Pallweber? If you do, can you please disclose who was the first buyer and the date sold? Thanks.

The States at that time had no official hallmarking system. The silver or gold content was given by the maker himself and there was no regulation, which asked for a approval and an approval stamp as proof the case passed the test by an authority.

So the marking in your watch has been applied by the case maker or the importer.
