Happy 19th birthday to the Forum

Hello members,

Today is the 19th birthday of this wonderful IWC forum. A place where I met a
lot of people and quite a few of you are now close friends! I got my first IWC
in I believe 2007 so I was too late for the first Collectors Forum Watch, the
lovely Inge 3227 with slate gray dial.

I did have a chance to order the second, the super rare Da Vinci Chrono but at
that time I didn't have the budget for it.

I was very lucky to obtain the latest two models: the Pilots Chrono and the
Aquatimer:

Here they are, with a jar of honey from our own bees (we have about 5 hyves at
the office) and a bottle of hand sanitizer.

Happy Anniversary Collectors Forum!!

Happy 19th
Anniversary IWC Collectors Forum! I first logged in January of 2008 and have
been an active participant ever since the first posting. I've learned
everything I know about IWC and horology in general from the folks who
participate on this forum. I can also say, unequivocally, I've made some of
my best friendships with my fellow members. It is an honor to be amongst you!

Happy Anniversary IWC Collectors Forum

I joined this wonderful place in 2013 and I have met and become friends with a
wonderful bunch of people! So much so that while travelling, I have had the
opportunity to visit with friends all over the world and I have happily been
able to host IWC friends in Toronto.

The events this Forum has allowed me to attend, the knowledge and friendship I
have gained is indescribable - what a place!

Seen below, my first Forum event in New York City. A cocktail party at the
Madison Avenue Flagship followed by a dinner to introduce the collectors to
then president Edouard.

Looking forward to many many more :o)

Indeed, it's amazing that this platform has been such an important part of my
life for so long, and as you all write while we share the passion here for the
IWC watches, it's more - a whole lot more than that.

The friendship and comorade that exists here amongst the members, has been to
me one of the most important aspects. I've interacted with so many people over
the years, and hace made so many good friends that it would be hard for me to
imagine life without it.

It's my "go to place" for information on IWC timepieces - both contempary and
vintage, as well as a huge source of interlectual discussions to be found back
in and around my hobby.

I note Clemens says he has two of the four Collectors Forum watches. My only
advice to him, is to hurry up and secure the remaining two - and to do so
before CF5 comes along!

Of course, it's hard to believe that this photo was taken over 9 years ago
when MF (without whom this forum would not be here today) was presented with a
small momento by a bunch of grateful collectors for his inset.

And this photo of our current fearless leader and forum moderator Tonny
Berteloot, with his team of pocket watch restoration experts, was already some
5 years ago!

I look forward to many more years of posting here, under his watchful eye!

I also met so many new people from all over the world since I joined 19 year
ago... I was not part of the very very first group I guess, but it's still
truly amazing to have made so many friends by 'just talking watches' and the
shared pasion for the brand. I think we should also thank IWC for being such
visionairs in hosting an independent forum on their website.

Once upon a time, another part of the IWC Forum was online, German speaking.
Georges has kicked it out and and the very extensive archive as well ?!

Only some remainers swapped over to this remaining part ........

Ah, those were the days. One year later the first collectors meeting was
organised. I found back the old
pictures.These
are the English speaking participants. Sadly very few are still on the
forum.These
are the German speaking participants. I only see Tilo as a surviving IWC
collector and as active as 19 years
ago.And this
was our hostess : Veronika Michel, a wonderful person and then a world
collectors leading lady.

Ah, those were the days.

Hi Adrian,

thanks for showing the photos of the first collectors meeting. I appear on the
englisch image although i am one of the last "mohikans" from the German Group.
I also found out that i joined the Forum one day earlier than you, it was the
22.03.2001.

Thanks to all for keeping the Forum alive, and a special thanks to Tonny and
8541 for 82 peeks into the history IWC Pocketwatches.

looking forward to the next 19 years.

SIHH 2011 was a memorable year for many of we collectors. It was my third
trip to Genva, but one of the best. Not only did we renew friendships, but we
also celebrated with MF the 10th Anniversary of the Collectors' Forum. Mark L
was the lead person designing and developing a memorial medallion celebrating
the 10th Anniversay of the Forum. Alan Ross was charged with toting 15 or 20
of them to Geneva. It was guite a load and he got them thouugh customs.

MF's medallion was gold and the participating collectdors's medalion is
silver. It is engraved on the edge with our names. It is encased in plasic
and in a display box as well. The presentation was a wonderful suprise for
MF. It was distributed to him and all at the last dinner at our frequented
spot, Restaurant Les Armures. Here are a few shots of the Mark's
presentaiton to Mf, the group, our watches, and the medalion. The pictures
are not so good. It was before I really had the right equipemnt.
