To my American friends of the forum, may I wish you a happy 4th of July.
I happened to have taken today off from work, and took my family to a local Hong Kong tourists' attraction, Ocean Park, for a day.
Let me share with you some of the (albeit lousy) photos that I took!
Doing some last minute preparation (by checking out its web-site) before heading off to the park:
Got there a bit late (later than I have anticipated). I must say I have not really set foot in this park for years. Going to this park was one of every Hong-kong kid's dream:
Promised my son that I would show him some sharks. Heading towards to the aquarium:
Saw lots of sardines... perhaps more than I have ever seen at any given time (including from the supermarkets):
A hammer shark!
well... I am fully equipped... with a watch that matched the occasion. Look, I wouldn't dare wearing anything but a watch that has a 2000m water resistance rating to an aquarium... ;-)
Spider crabs!
well... nice water fountain:
waiting for my sons while they were having fun at the carousel. (a bit dark, I know)
just to show that I really WAS at the carousel... waiting...
and waiting some more...
nostalgia...
where to go next...?
how 'bout taking a ride on the new Ocean Express to the other side of the park?
at the other side of the park, I checked out a place where they kept all their jelly-fishes... and boy, did my watch glow!
again, putting my watch where it belonged... :-)
pardon me... but as I couldn't use my flash, and the relatively poor camera of my smart-phone didn't really help either... let me give it another try:
ohh!! I kept on taking photos of my watch, I almost forgot to take photos of the jelly-fishes!
another shot... (of my watch)
see... jelly fish!
I went to see some giant pandas as well...
I felt embarrassed when I asked my sons to check out this "raccoon". Turned out it was a form of pandas called "red pandas" or simply known as "fire-fox":
another shot of the raccoo... I mean the fire-fox:
giant panda chewing on her bamboo shoots:
a distant cousin of some supposedly pre-historic creature, that is still alive today:
a shot from top of the park, where it overlooked at some good scenery of Hong Kong:
A funny looking gold fish:
ahh... cable cars. The only means of transportation within the park for decades before they recently introduced the Ocean Express.
What a day. It has been very exhausting yet fulfilling. My kids had load of fun. So... what's for dinner?
Have a nice day!
