    Hello Everybody,

Got a tip from another Watch enthousiast from the dutch watch forum to check
    out the IWC collectors forum.

A short introduction seems to be in place. My name is Martijn and i'm from the
Netherlands. When i was a little kid i was allready very interested in watches
thanks to my dad. He wore a IWC ingenieur 3003 and an Heuer Autavia 1153, and
as time passed he gave the Heuer to me and i wore and wear it still with great
    joy.

two years ago my dad passed away and i inherreted the Ignieur. It was due for
a service but IWC doesn't provide service for the 3003 anymore. I found a IWC
specialist who is taking care of it as we speak. However the clasp is giving
some trouble. It's nog the original anymore. At some point in time it was
replaced by another IWC clasp (unsure wich type of IWC it belonged to)

So i'm looking for tips were i could find a clasp for the 3003/1832. We
already contacted IWC but no luck there. I'm searching Ebay on an allmost
daily basis too. Still no luck, so maybe someone here can help out?

I'll try and upload some pictures soon.

    Best regards,

    Martijn

Welcome Martijn and there are more Dutch people around! There must be someone
overhere that can help you with the clasp question!?

I guess 1832 had the same so should be available?!

    Groet,

    Bob

    Welcome Martijn!!

We have quite a number of very knowledgable Dutch collectors here. Hopefully
one of them can chime in soon and help you on your quest.

    Martijn Welcome,

To ensure others do not misunderstand your statement that IWC "doesn't provide
    service for the
3003 anymore" let's just make it clear that this watch contains a quartz based
movement and whilst Schaffhausen invested quite heavily some while back, to
scale up a Heritage Repair Department and will provide service on most
timepieces they ever manufactured going back well over a 100 years plus, for
some watches like those quartz timepieces they simply do not have the spare
replacement movements on stock anymore. However, it's quiet possible they may
have a replacement bracelet or spare bracelet links on that watch.
Either way, you say that you have found a watchmaker that's is working on your
watch, so hopefully your problem there is resolved.

For us to be able to help / advise its probably best for you to post photos
here of the watch, specifically the bracelet and clasp.

Bob, by my understanding your correct it should be the same bracelet. For this
reason I think Schaffhausen could have helped / could help.

    Thanks for the replies!

My watchmaker has already been in contact with IWC but they don't have spare
bracelets or clasps for the 3003/1832 anymore.

Watch is now running and the only thing missing is the right clasp.

Here are some (iphone) photo's of the 3003 in service, and of the clasp i'm
looking for. An alternative clasp is also an option so i can wear the watch
and continue searching for the original part.

Martijn, the photo shows an original clasp still in place.

nothing beats original - my advise have your watch maker send it to a fine
engineering machine shop and have them laser fill/build-up the stainless steel
edges and rework to form so that the original clasp can be saved.

not cheap - but this watch has more family heritage in it. So worthwhile to
    do.

    Hi Mark,

The picture of the clasp in only for reference. It's not the clasp from my
watch but the one i'm looking for.

    Best regards,

    Martijn
