    I inherited this watch over 40 years ago. I have not worn it. It was
    identified in 2006 as a Portofino, 18k gold, from 1940's or 50's, but I am not
    sure. It needs daily winding but keeps excellent time.

    Numbers inside read by jeweller recently as 1198607 and 149

    I might give it as a Xmas present to my son, depending on its value.

    Greetings from Toronto ... This is a very nice manual wind IWC Caliber 89
    watch from 1949, long before Portofino name was used. It will make a most
    excellent Xmas present for your son
