Help me find watch from the 40s

My grandfather showed me this watch the other day, but he did not remember the
exact model. That is why I am writing here.
The strap is unfortunately not original.

Interesting patina developed there. This can either be due to the watch being
kept in very humid conditions, water infiltration or the owner was a heavy
smoker.

Without seeing the movement and reference numbers to be sure, I am going to
guess the watch is an IWC Cal 83, which was in production from 1930 - 1947.

This is my watch, obviously the same model. Nice to see a sibling from almost
85 years ago.

The watch is equipped with a caliber 83 movement. See picture below also,
